Bainbridge Memorial Day 5K Night Race

Stephen smashed his personal best 5K time tonight when he ran a 17:42 at the Bainbridge Memorial Day 5K Night Race. Stephen's previous best was 18:18. His time was good enough for 2nd place overall and 1st in his age group. The winner of the race was Wakulla High rising senior Stanley Linton who ran a 17:04. Stephen was followed by Bainbridge High rising senior Davie Reynolds who ran an 18:20. Stephen's PR came just 10 1/2 hours after he ran an 18:28 5K in Valdosta.

Valdosta, Georgia: Memorial Day 5K Run 2011

Stephen ran in the Valdosta, Georgia Memorial Day 5K Run today finishing 3rd Overall and 1st in his age group. Stephen's time was 18:28, 2:20 faster than he ran the race last year. The winner of the race was Christopher Rice (17:10) and second place was the Masked Avenger (17:51). Christopher Rice also won the race last year with a time of 16:49.

The race director was Todd Smoot, the head coach of the Valdosta State University Cross Country Team. Todd also runs most, if not all, of Valdosta's other road races. You can get information on all of Valdosta's races from Todd's Get Active website.
