Greenwood Plantation Meet (Boys)

After the Girls Varsity race ended the Boys Varsity Race began. The Brookwood Boys started out slow and seemed to do a better job of pacing themselves than many of the runners from the other schools. Brookwood's Boys finished 2nd overall behind Tiftarea and once again just edged in front of Deerfield-Windsor.

Stephen finished third overall (19:07) and first among the teams in Brookwood's Region. The two boys who beat Stephen are from Deerfield-Windsor and Tiftarea; both AAA schools. Alex finished tenth overall and second in Brookwood's Region with a time of 20:26. Daniel Fortner finished 16th with a time of 21:38, Hampton Worthey finished 20th with a time of 22:55, Rand Pope finished 22nd with a time of 23:13, Nathan Walter finished 26th with a time of 24:00, Campbell Beadles finished 28th with a time of 24:28, Jack Howard finished 30th with a time of 24:41, Jack Harper finished 31st with a time of 25:09, John Penhallegon finished 32nd with a time of 25:27, Renny Hodges finished 35th with a time of 27:00, Luke Mitchell finished 38th with a time of 28:54 and Zachary Walter finished 40th with a time of 29:46.

Enjoy the pictures.

Brookwood was the host school for this race. Coach Mac, Coach Beeson and Coach Stauffer did a great job running the show. Bullhorns always help.

Listen to Coach Beeson boys. She knows what she's talking about.

These two finished first and second at the meet. I think they both finished in the low 18's. Both of them are from AAA schools.

The kid ahead of Stephen in this picture beat him at the Deerfield-Windsor Meet.

Stephen finished third overall and first in Brookwood's Region with a time of 19:07. That is 30 seconds better than his previous best time.

Alex finished 10th overall and second in Brookwood's Region. I don't have his time but I will post it when I get it.

Stephen had a tougher time than usual cooling down after the meet.

And now for the JV boys. I didn't get to see all of their meet as I was ushered into the back of an ambulance near the end of the JV meet (See below). I did see Will Carico finish third overall with a time of 10:58. Preston Young finished 13th with a time of 12:13, Will Ladson finished 17th with a time of 12:28, William Harrer finished 18th with a time of 12:44, Jacob Robbins finished 37th with a time of 14:33 and Austin Walter finished 44th with a time of 15:26.

Will Carico finished third overall in the JV meet.

After the race Stephen broke out in hives and had to be taken to the Emergency Room. The reason he ended up going to the ER is because the paramedics had to give him benadryl. They said any time they have to give benadryl to a patient in the ambulance the patient has to go to the ER. After 45 minutes at the ER, Stephen was fine so we went out for some Mexican food.

Some of the other runners were concerned about Stephen. This picture was taken out of the back of the ambulance.

Stephen loves the medals, trophies and ribbons.
