With Will Carico sick and Stephen Robbins running with the Varsity it would have been difficult for the JV boys to place at the Tiftarea Invitational. Despite not placing, several of the boys ran hard and finished strong. Brookwood's first finisher was Truman Wright, followed by Preston Young, William Harrer, Will Ladson, Jacob Robbins and Austin Walter.
Of particluar note was the finish by Jacob Robbins. Jacob was fourth from last place coming out of the woods at about the 1/3 point. After a little verbal encouragement from his brother and father, Jacob picked up the pace. Jacob disappeared back into the woods following the race path and when he came out again about 600 meters later he had passed about 15 runners. As he rounded the fence headed toward the finish line he picked up his pace again and sprinted past four more runners. With a mad sprint at the end he was almost able to pass a fifth runner from Mount de Sales. Great effort Jake! Great effort JV boys.
